He has power. The radio is "on" just no sound.

Mike, the center trim comes out without tools!

You just need a 7mm socket to pull the 4 radio bolts.

Give it a shot!

Thanks for all the suggestions.

(Mike knew how, just too frustrated to want to! Thanks for the words of support and the suggestion on the phone. It made me wait at least two hours before I looked at it again!)

Anyway, after the steam stopped coming out of my ears I just decided "Screw it, I'm taking the dam thing out and starting over!"

To make a short story long....as I was loosening the attacthing bolt for the base everything started working!!

I've never had something not work because the connections were too tight! And this wasn't even a connection, it was the bolt that holds the dam thing to the roof!

Well all's well that ends!

Another undocumented feature of the HHR. Glad everything started working again. Nothing more frustarting than when something goes wrong from a simple thing you did and what went wrong makes no sense.

and the drama continues......

Just went out to but my stubby antenna back on, the base is loose!!!

I was so excited about the radio working I didn't check to see if the base was still tight. It's gonna have to wait to go in until Monday now.

Take some of these. . Won't solve the problem...but at least you'll feel better.

Sorry to hear you're still having problems.
