It may be best to have the dealer do this one....just cutting the hole in the upper compartment for the dock connector is too much for me. I'd rather let someone else screw it up, then I have someone to complain to.

I got the kit today and will work to get it installed ove the weekend if it's not too humid and hot. Anyway, anyone else installed this by themselves? I read in the instructions (yeah, I know... ) it says that with XM you need Tech 2 to enable.

Just finished installing mine yesterday no big deal only thing is in the instructions their missing Figure 6 which shows which wire to remove in J1
just look close at the connector the corner pins have location numbers on them if I remember right it's the top left wire 18 in the corner with the connector plugged in. And the Tech 2 is only needed to turn XM on in the module that you install if you don't have or use the XM then your good to go.

( Update ) Went to dealer on Monday to get my XM enabled took all of 5 minutes to do it N/C from the dealer.

This is the P.A.L. part # 19171028 I orderd yesterday. It was $159 retail. I got it a bit cheaper since I know the parts guy. I will pick it up tomorrow.

Im thinking of cutting a slot insted of a hole for the ipod connector. Maybe in the box sidewall. that way loose things cant drop down under the dash.

I got it at cost... and looks like that's the location where I'll drill too. There is a grommit to put it through the hole so there is no chance of cutting the cable due to the rough edges or things falling through.

Mine was installed today. Took the Accessories Dept. less than an hour to install then run up to service to have it flashed for the XM. All is working well.
