Installed a sub, things aren't working now!

So I installed my 10JLW7 and Phoenix Gold 500W Tantrum in my HHR SS b/c the stock sub just doesn't do it for me and I needed it out of the house. I installed it using a cheap Scosche line convertor, tapping into the brown/ brown/white wired for the RCA and the red for the remote. During the install we also disconnected the sub at the connection point on the box. Got everything put together and it worked fine. The next day I realized that the DRLs did not work, nor did the passenger seat belt chime, or the AM/FM functions on the radio, but everything else was fine. The next day I believe the DRLs and chime started working again, but the AM/FM still don't produce any sound. The XM/CD/bluetooth/Ipod all work fine, but when the system is playing, from time to time it pops loudly and seems to lower the power to the sub. I don't know if it is an amp issue or what. It seems to build the power back slowly, or even sometimes seems to pop and raise the power. I haven't been able to see if the amp itself turns off or what is going on there, thought maybe somebody might have 2 cents to offer here. I don't know if the sub connection I took out has anything to do with the AM/FM not working, or if maybe we did knocked something else loose in putting the panels back on or what. BTW, power and ground came straight from the battery, no capacitor. I thought about removing the (-) terminal from the battery for a minute and seeing if it resets whatever issue is going on there but haven't tried it yet. Looked at some of the fuses under the hood but seems to be fine there.

Resetting the car requires the negative terminal to be removed, then turning the key for about a min.. so try that and see what happens...
