LT1 MP3 Player

When i purchased my 07 LT1 i could have sworn that the sticker on the windows mentioned MP3 radio or something of that sort. I tried putting in a cd full of mp3's and it did not work. Is it only the LT2 that plays MP3 on cd's?

nope my 1 LT does, it only support a certain amout of sub folder, and such. check out the manual it should tell you.

My new LT2 plays MP3's, but not well, lots skips, swipes & smears, very annoying. This was the same on my 2006 Impala, so annoying that I stopped even trying. A few years ago, I bought a brand new Clarion head unit for my old Saab for all of $88. It played MP3s flawlessly, so well that I removed my 6 disc CD changer from the trunk and sold it to another Saab enthusiast on eBay for $120. So I ended up with an MP3 player that would play up to 13 CD's worth of music in place of a 6 disc unit, AND a profit besides.
These GM units just can't compete with what you can find in the aftermarket, not even an $88 unit. Pitifull!
Also, it takes a long time to read the whole disc, recognize as MP3 and load up.

I dunno, I have a '08 2LT and I made a CD with 87 tracks, there are 8 folders and the name of the songs appear on the face, it takes about 8-10 seconds for it to load up, never skips. I recorded 90% of the tracks at 320 bit rate and a few are 200 something bit rate. Sounds great!

How many songs are on your full cd? If a full cd is 17-20 songs, then you burned it as a regular cd-audio cd. If a full cd is around 175 songs, then you burned it as an mp3 disc. Check out the software you use to burn, it should give you the choice.

mp3 disc = data disc
regular cd = music disc

but yeah if youi have like 300 songs on a cd then its mp3

my LT2 has the 6 disc changer and i have 6 mp3 discs in there.. cancelled my XM and well pretty have allthe music i normally listen too anyways...even tho i do miss some of the XM programs

use NERO burn rom i think its one of the or if not the best one.. it has a thing to where you can verify the contents of your cd and ive never had problems with it

only thing i wish chevy would make the face plate/display better for the MP3s.. iwish it was like a scrolling thing so you can see th name/artist/title etc without having to push the button u know?

Let me know the last 6 digits of your VIN and I can tell you if it has an MP3 capable cd player.
