message on radio AUX INPUT DEVICE

My radio will go off and this message appears: Aux Input Device. What does this mean and how to fix ? Some times the messages keeps coming on and off every few seconds. Other time the radio will work for an hour or so. Thanks for any help

Somebody broke a connector off in the Jack. Or stuck something into it.

look in the aux port and see if something is stuffed in there?
