Neither is better or worse. ;) It's a matter of opinion. You left out bandpass boxes from your question?

I agree. You will have to listen to each type and decide what you like. I personally prefer sealed enclosures, I am currently running a slot ported enclosure and in my opinion its very high output as far as spl goes but limited in frequency range ( cancels out frequencies lower than 40 hz ). In my camaro's I have sealed enclosures where the bass is tighter and can hit a wide range of frequencies.

I'm not into "booming" bass at all, but run a bandpass box with great results. Mine is tuned with a cutoff at 63hz and puts out clean tight bass.

Often times tuning can make a box sound better. Sometimes the results are night & day. Here's mine:

Im sorry, i shoulda said what i wanted form the box as well. I want something that has very tight bass and will sound good. I used to have a jl audio 13.5 sub powered by a 500.1 jl amp in a ported box and jesus it was insanely loud. Im not looking for the same thing this time, i want something that is moderate in the loudness level but more or less i want quality sound and nice clean bass you can hear instead of anything just booming its ass off, hope that helps.

Also, BTW i'll prolly be running some jl 10's in this box, cant decide if im going with 10w3v2's or 10w1v2's or 10w0's.

go with the 10w3v2 or 12w3v2 in a sealed box and you will be happy. ask cj, he tested a 12w3v2 in a sealed and ported and he liked the sealed much better and it took up less room.

I was concerned with going sealed becuase I wanted a setup with a lot of bass. Everything I read for the bass I wanted was going to require ported/vented/bandpass, but my setup was going to have to be sealed due to my design. Now that I've had my setup for almost two weeks I have zero regrets. I get plenty of booming bass with my sealed box and two 10's. There is no need for me to change to vent/port/bandpass. I'm extremely happy with my sub bass output with the sealed enclosure.

Like what appears the majority so far I prefer sealed enclosures.

^^^ your setup looka pretty good. THe only bad thing is my amp is only capable of 275w @ 2ohms, so i dont really wanna buy another amp, just wanna make use of it, so im not sure if it could power the 10w3's to their full power handling. I also got a 8wo in the stock location so hopefully it should sound pretty nice.
