Need some help

Ok i just got my HHR about a week ago and i didn't get the premium set up, but now i want to add XM radio to it, so i went out and got the XMD1000 tuner...Now my one and only problem is finding the adapter...I have looked and looked, but nobody sells it without it being in a kit...I'm in the navy and i'm fixing to be leaving for a 7 month deployment here in a few weeks and i wanted to have everything hooked up for her before i left, so any information and where to get just the adapter would be great, Or some of you guys that are switching over to sirius might want to make some money adn sell me there old adapter would be awsome...Thanks guys

Is THIS what you are looking for? I got the part number from the XM Radio site for Panasonic radios, which is what I have been told is in the HHR's. This adapter cable is $19.99. Now I am not sure what model the stock radio is, but this might be a step in the right direction. If this is not compatible with the radio, please provide me with model number and I will continue my search. :thumb:

The following Panasonic head-units are compatible with the XMDirect* Universal Tuner Box: This is the adaptor for your panasonic, you will need the XMD 1000 to complete the Satallite system. Nope, she means Panasonic. The stocker headunits are Panasonic.

Irrelevant. The OEM unit does not use a Panasonic or Pioneer communication protocol. It uses a GM-LAN regardless of who manufactures the headunits now or in the future.

So you are saying that this guy cannot use this adapter cable to hook up his standalone XM unit to his existing radio? The adapter I believe you are talking about crazybob, is the one that is not available yet, so we can change out our head units without direct wiring. I don't know much about audio/video, but I've been researching enough on this today that I am becoming more familiar with the XM service. If I am wrong, I will kindly bow out, but no one had responded to this guys message, so I figured I would try to be of some assistance...or at least bring it to the top so his question might get answered. ;)

I called them already and they said i need the MXDGMK which is the kit with the tuner...The part number for the adapter i need is the XMDGM100...I have not been able to find anybody that sells just the adapter and i just find that hard to believe...

Correct.

The interface he seeks does not exist yet. XMDGMK fits 2005's but NOT the HHR. The thread's around here somewhere, that adaptor doesn't work with the newest generation GM radio.

Okay...I searched the forum and found THIS thread...check post #83. Snova031 used it on his HHR and said it worked fine. Is this the thread you were thinking of? It refers to yet another part which is HERE.

As the XM adapter turns.
