Need stereo recomendation

I like the look of the in-dash navigation sysytems, with the screen built-in to the double din factory location, but I really don't want the navigation feature. I'm lookng for a DVD player that is similar. Most of the players I have seen have a flip-out screen. I also want to put in a back-up camera, so must be compatible. Another question I have is if DVD playback is disabled while driving the car?

Check out this panasonic.... has the options you are looking for-- and usually can be found for a really good price...

one thing about panasonics --they have one of the lowest DOA and warranty problems out there...

and i am sure the mod for the DVD drive enable can be done on this one...

I have the Alpine IVA-W205, it is a double din dvd player, no built in gps/nav. But can get the Alpine blackbird to dock into it later and the best part you can transfer the blackbird to your second car being that the blackbird is a handheld gps device. You can also add a camera to it too. The screen of the is not a flip up hard to described but here is pics of it https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/audio-video-17/alpine-nav-10458/
You can add 2 switches to the dvd player so you can have dvd playback while driving...

You can do a Pioneer AVIC-D3. They were last years model and they are on sale right now at most sites. Even Best Buy and Circuit city carry them for $599. I picked up mine from Crutchfield.com, you can watch DVD's by doing a simple bypass (a little wire grounding and wire switch). It looks factory and it's Pioneer to match the HHR stereo. You will have to do some Dremeling to get a double din to install.

Here's a JVC on Crutchfield:

or a Valor DTS-603W DVD:
