OEM Stereo Upgrade

Hi,
We have a 2008 LS with the factory audio system. That would be a single CD player, non-satellite radio, no sub woofer, etc. I would like to upgrade to a premium OEM system with amp, sub, satellite radio...

Is this a relatively simple plug and play type conversion? Do the wiring harnesses interchange or use common plug configurations? What is the best approach to an upgrade while maintaining the factory dash appearance?

Thanks in advance!

I just purchased upgraded speakers. I will be selling the Premium speakers (4), and the tweeters (2). However, I'm keeping the subwoofer and head unit. They're in great condition. If you're interested, let me know

The swap of the HU itself is easy, but you will need to have a dealer flash it so that you car will recognize it. All the units are VIN specific. Also, you will not have any of the wiring in the rear for the sub.

If I wanted to install a new head unit, do I first need to take it to the dealer to get it flashed and then install it or do I install it and then head to the dealer?

It needs to be installed in the car for them to program it. I would wright down all the service numbers off of the radio your installing before you install it in case the dealer needs any of those numbers for programming.
