PAL Installed Yesterday
I had the car in for some warranty work and had them install the PAL system.
The dealer matched the GM Parts Direct online price within a couple of bucks ($135.18, 159.00 list price) and the labor was $68.00.
The system is wired into your stock radio allowing you to control the iPod from either your steering controls, or radio controls. You can also display song, artist, and track time on your radios display.
The iPod is connected to a cable that is installed in the upper storage compartment. The system also recharges your iPod battery while connected.
The radio interface takes some getting used to, especially if you wanted to search for a particular song or artist, however for me, I usually have it set to shuffle.
All-in-all I love it so far, With the iPod now in the storage bin, I don't have to worry about it getting stolen and the sound quality is great.
I'll try and take some pictures over the weekend and post.

i wouldn't be leaving it in that dash storage bin while you're not in the car. If you leave it in the summer heat even for an hour, it's not going to be good for electronics. I can't remember how hot the inside of cars get off the top of my head, but then put it in a spot that gets almost direct sunlight, the hard drive and the LCD screen aren't going to be happy. Especially since then it doesn't really have a way to cool down before you start playing it.
Geeez - I seem to remember practically 'melting' in the grandstands at NHIS (sorry - NHMS) at a couple of the July Nascar races, so I know personally that it DOES in fact get hot there...
On the original thread topic - does anyone know if the PAL will have any use with an add-on XM radio???

PAL came installed on my Blackie.
I've had a NANO almost from the start and it is almost always in the 75F-100F+ range around here regardless of the season
Other then taking it out to update music, I never take it out and have had no problems with it.
