Placing a sub in the stock hole on an LS.
 

I just got an 07 LS model and I love it! The stock bass coming from the 4 speakers and 2 tweeters is plenty, I just would like a little bit more. I know that the pioneer upgrade system installs an enclosure that the sub goes in, but my question is, can I find an enclosure that I can buy that fits in the same place. And if yes, where can I get one. Also, I know that I am going to have to do some major wiring to get audio from the front of the car. Is it possible that the Is a high level line to RCA converter my best bet? The bottom line is that I want the car to stay as stock as possible and only add an 8" sub in the space that the upgrade sub would go. Any help would be great.

welcome enjoy the ride, its not that hard to do you can order the sub by itslef the wires are already back their behind the punch out. Just go on gmpartsdirect.com

No they are not. The 7 speaker has a completely different wire harness and a separate amp. It's not quite plug and play O6. I'm not saying it's hard to add a sub by any means but there is no way you can just order one and plug it in. :roll:

I think the main concern that I have is getting the custom fit enclosure that sits on the wheelwell. I can get all of the other parts at a car audio place. I am hoping that someone has made an aftermarket enclosure so I don't have to go to GM and spend an arm and a leg.

I was saying this becasue at one time I wanted anf FJ Curiser remember, with that the wires where already there for the optional sub, so if you wanted you could get it later, and yes its like that on the jetta. I just thought it would be the same for the HHR I remember hearing someone on here say it did.

CarotHHR07- I would just go to a local shop and see what it would cost for them to make that box for you. If not why dont you just get a box for one 10 its small and compact, it would fit on the side and not take up much room, not in the factory location though. Just an Idear

the hhr is not built that way i bought the factory sub for my 1lt but it was weak i had have two 12 and amp but took to much room so i had the factory sub modded to take a 10 and it hits harder then the two 12 they dynomatted the metal behind the sub works great and still have al my cargo room
