Power Source for Underseat Powered Sub?

I can't seem to find anything, but maybe I'm using the wrong search terms.

I'm thinking of adding a single-unit powered sub that goes under the front pass. seat. I have an aftermarket HU and non-premium sound. Is the battery the only power source? The amp is 125w RMS and needs 10-12g power wires. I'll use the remote turn-on from the HU.

If I have to use the batery in back, where do I run the wires?

Thanks.

There is the BCM fuse box, there are a couple of spares. There is the underhood fuse box.

Run wires under the carpet.

Actually, come to think, the aux power outlet on the rear center console is a handy place to splice into. It is 20 amps, and I don't think there is anything else on the circuit. Or, the cigarette lighter on the waterfall is 20 Amp shared with the OBDii port.

Thanks, very helpful.

"needs 10-12g power wires"

Wiring that big needs to be hooked into a power source that is the same size or larger.
Power outlet or cigarette lighter wouldn't be a good choice to tap into.

I was thinking 20 amp would be 12g? If not then you have to go to the battery, run it under the plastic floor to the carpet.

Thanks, both.

just a side note, i looked at adding a thin sub like the ones found in pickups behind the seats, and I didnt have enough room under the HHR seats. Now this was a couple years ago, so maybe there is a manufacturer that is making a thinner sub box..or youre going to have to make custom brackets to raise the seat.

I was wondering that myself; although, I haven't measured under the seat, yet. The two I'm looking at are the Infinity BassLink SM/JBL BassPro SL 2 7/8"x10 1/16"x13 9/16" and the Sound Ordinance B-8PTD 3 1/8"x9 1/8"x13 5/8". Was your consideration in the 3" height area?
