Premium 09 SS Head Unit Question

After scanning 20 pages of threads, I still don't know what dangers might be ahead of me should I decide to install a new unit in my 09 upgraded SS.
I'm thinking about a touchscreen android (just not the $500 Parrot model, that's just a little insane considering my entire decent home computer system didn't cost that much) but who knows what I'll finally decide on. I'm just worried about a few small things.
Will OnStar be affected? Will Steering wheel controls/bluetooth calling be affected? What other problems might arise that I don't know of?

If you get all the right adapters everything should work. Whoever sells you the head unit can also supply everything else, if they are reputable.

I just ordered a head unit from crutchfield which will include detailed instructions for my '09. They also had the adapter for the door chimes. I had the onstar mirror but had replaced it with one with a reverse camera screen in it. So I will report how the install goes in about a week. But so far I have been impressed with crutchfield having everything needed to do the install.

Thanks, looks like Crutchfield is the go-to
