Radio console is no longer playing in stereo

I have a 2010 HHR LT1 Trim. Radio has cd/usb/ear-jack/satellite
My radio is now sounding like it is playing through just one small speaker. The cd player also sounds like this when played.
No matter how high I turn up the volume it's barely a whisper.
:clueless:
Is this the radio or the speakers?

It's possible that this question has been answered in another thread, but I've looked and looked and not really seeing the answer. (I'm tired):coffee:

Did you type "speakers" into the SEARCH box top center of the page?

I got 3,000 results.

Most likely it's your speakers have gone bad.

Sounds like speakers to me. If you jam out, the OEM speakers won't hold up too well. (trust me, I know. ;) )

My recommendation is first check the wiring to make sure none of it is loose. Then, I would say if that checks out, go get some new speakers and have them installed. (also had to do this) You won't miss the whisper quiet.

Similiar thing happened on mine, had to replace all 4 door speakers as the foam was gone on all of them.

Thank you. And yes the quiet is getting to me. But better the quiet then the squeaky high pitch I get when I try to play a cd or radio. Everyone sings like Alvin and the Chipmunks. lol

Thanks for the reply. My son is a mechanic so he's gonna help his Momma out. :-)

I see the RIP in March. Did you trade it or did it bite the dust?
