I wonder if that could be what's going on with my radio, I'll have to dig into my scantool & see if it can look for / read / program the chip.... If the radio is disabled, does that also disable all the chimes & warning sounds? It was already on my list to check out next vacation, along with doing the rear brakes. Of course, I'll probably just swap it for the Sony in my LT. I've grown accustomed to having over 4800 songs at my fingertips, but would still be nice if the factory stereo actually works!

The MOST likely cause of no sound from stock radio is the speakers. Thousands of radios have been replaced only to find they don't work either.
