Re: Antenna Removal
Just picked up an 08 LT and want to make sure the long antenna on the front center of the roof doesn't get damaged at the car wash. Can anyone tell me how to take it off? Not sure if it unscrews, pulls out or what.
Thanks all and Merry Christmas! Krusty. |
Welcome, It unscrews lefty loosey, righty tighty:nuts:

Re: Antenna
Thanks!
I tried unscrewing it earlier, but it didn't want to budge and I didn't want to break it. A little more force and it unscrewed. Cheers! Krusty. P.S. For the person that asked I live about an hour north of Toronto in Barrie. |
Krusty.... :welcome: when are you planning on posting pictures?

Has anyone else tried this? I unscrewed the antenna and threaded in a 5mm black allen head screw so that nothing projects above the main antenna mount. Reception is still the same (good), with both terrestrial and satellite (XM). Sure looks a heck of a lot better. Will post pics tommorow.

Re: Antenna
Yup....a bit more force and it unscrewed. I'm off to the carwash today! Speaking of radios, my HHR has the smaller satellite radio antenna on the rear of the vehicle, but I don't see any indication of satellite radio in the car. It appears to be a plain AM/FM CD player with 6 pack changer. My car is a base LT with the "Sun and Sound Package".
Luvin' this car! Krusty. |
ONSTAR antenna.

Re: Antenna
DOH! It appeared to be a little more hi-tech than a lousy Onstar antenna! My previous ride....an 04 Monte Carlo SS had the little cell-phone antenna for Onstar.
Oh well, thanks for the info....I was trying real hard to find a Sat. button on the radio......LOL! Krusty. |
