Sirius
Hello,
I have the 2lt package with the built in XM radio. I already subscribe to sirius and was wondering if there is anyway to replace the xm unit? If not do any other members have sirius? and are they using the aux jack, or fm modulator? Thanks |
Since the Headunit is factory there is no conversion kit. I looked into this awhile ago. They do sell external devices. Thats the only way to connect. FYI- Welcome to Chevyhhr.net

Nah, If you want Sirius, You might look into getting a Sirius Sportster. (To Listen to Howard, I Presume?)
PS: Welcome to ChevyHHR.net! |
I heard Howard is going to be on both Networks from sort of double cast.

New one on me, bro.
|
I had a bad Sirius infection once. Took some medication and now I'm all better.
|
I just saw a Sirius ad that said,"Howard only on Sirius" at the end.
|
Yo Howdy! You got PM!

I've wondered the same. By the time my free 3month sub is up, hopefully I'll have a better answer. Most of the HU's have a satellite receiver connected to them, as opposed to being "built in". It's at this point you would plug the Sirius in. Most of these direct satellite plug in units though are made for aftermarket stereos, Kenwood, Alpine, etc. There just isn't the market to design a sytems to interface with stock car stereos.
Companies like PIE, Soundgate, etc make a number of interfaces that allow you to plug in your satellite receivers but they aren't ideal. I had so many problems with the one in my Toyota I finally pulled the stock radio out and put an aftermarket in with matching Sirius receiver. I too would like to use Sirius in my HHR, and eventually may be able to. Right now I'm going to enjoy the XM though and give it a shot since it's free for 3 months. jerij |
I take back my remark about Howard being on both. I overheard someone mention it. I looked all over online and found no source. Expect that Sirius is going to do this huge advertising for him
