So are there any good touch screen head units that don't require you to have to trim anything down?

I can't imagine there's going to be much. There's a certain depth required for the disc and mechanical stuff and the only alternative is having it sticking further out of the dash.

Having said that, trimming the dash is dead easy and completely invisible. I sure wouldn't let it stop me from installing the head unit of my dreams.

Thought I'd supplement this thread by showing off the new headrests I installed this weekend. After looking at various options I decided to go with Boss HIR90T 9-inch LCDs. The color matches the interior absolutely perfectly and you'd never know they didn't come from the factory like that. Didn't take any pictures of the install because (1) it was too dang hot/humid to be doing this job, let alone slowing down to take pictures, and (2) because the install is dead simple. Just pull the old headrests, pull the plastic backs off the seats, insert the new guides into the holes where the factory headrest posts were, run the wire down through the guide, wire and test, and reassemble the seat backs.

Nice thing about using these with the XNV-770BT is that the kids can watch a movie in the back while I keep the navigation on the screen up front.

The pics really say it all, so here they are:

Excellent!

My son is about to embark on upgrading his 2006 LT1. The pictures will really help us, thanks!

And might I add, you have excellent taste in movies (Monty Python)... https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/imag...wothumbsup.gif
