speaker adapter ?

Hi everyone,

I tried a search but could not find what I was looking for and am hoping someone can help out. I am looking at purchasing a set of 5 1/4 components and am wondering if anyone has done this? It would be for both the front and rears - no worries on the rear, the tweeters can be mounted as separates or as a coax.

The reason for 5 1/4.. A friend is selling me 2 sets I installed in his car for *very* cheap as he is selling his vehicle and has purchased a different set for his new vehicle.

I have an 09 SS with the 6 speaker system and it looks like I may need adapters based on other parts, but don't know what part number. I saw one from Scosche (SAGMHR634B), but can't find if it will fit to 5.25. Building from Masonite/MDF is not an option due to it being exposed to the elements

Thanks!
Rob

Already checked there - they have one that says it will work, however the photo does not look right with pictures I have seen on this site for how it needs to look.

I used a dense plastic divider like used for bathroom stalls for my adapters. Its weather resistant and very rigid.

Just use MDF, you'll be fine. If you're really worried about it then coat them in resin.
