Steering Wheel Audio Controls

I didn't get the upgraded sound system and was wondering if I could if could buy the radio controls for the steering wheel. I would think that it would just connect some how and not be too hard. (not have to run wires)

It's a different radio Adam. I dont' think the single CD changer model supports the wheel controls. (I could be proven wrong though...)

I called my dealership and he is going to have a look at it. I'd take a look, but I'm afraid the airbag would deploy on me. :)

On my 2LT, I have the 'upgraded' Pioneer system with a single CD player (not 6 CD changer) and I have the steering wheel controls. I love not having to reach for the radio, but think the buttons need to be flip-flopped. With the 5-spd, I would like to be able to control the volume and track functions with my left hand. Yes, I am a terrible channel surfer, even with CDs.

Well. I went ahead and looked. The radio control module is only 15 bucks so I Had to go ahead and try. I got it pryed open quite a bit, but just couldnt seem to get the whole thing off. I tried for about five minutes. I'm almost positive it would just plug in. I see what looks like a plug in when I pry it, but I can't see enough to be 100%. If I get any more info i'll post.

I got a good screwdriver and I could definetely tell that there was an input, most likely for the radio controls. The tab on the right side is just a lil lip and comes out easily. The other tab that holds the plastic in goes straight down into the metal it looks like. I pulled hard too, not sure how I'm gonna get it off.

Update...again...I found my tiny led flashlight and I can see 2 wires (forgot what color) that connect to this plug in thing that I think the radio control module plugs into. Also the plastic peice where the radio controls go is held in by one tab and one phillips screwdriver that you cant get to without taking out the airbag. So now i'm gonna see if i can take out the airbag and get to it that way.
