Stock AMP wiring diagram
Does anyone have a diagram for the stock Pioneer AMP? I'm going to replace the stock sub with a JL 8" and run a new amp to power it. I just need to know what wire to tap into for the "Remote" and "Sound" for my after-market AMP.
I'm going to keep the stock AMP in to power the other speakers. Thanks -Ryan |
Here's a pdf with all the connectors. I believe C3 is the one you want. Pins 1-4 for low level and 8 for remote power. That's what I used anyway. I don't think you'll be happy using the stock location though. The gains aren't worth the time. Make a compromise and put a decent box in the back and take it out if you need the space.

how about the PAC audio adapter (GM1416A) -- this will give you the remote out wire and the rca plugs without having to tap into and possibly mess up the current wiring-- I have one on the way-- as I am adding new rockford p3 10" dvc 4 ohm with an "old school " punch 45 amp that has alot of life left in from back in my big audio days of IASCA ---just a thought and I am one for trying to keep it simple and stock as possible..

Where does the adapter hook up? If it connects to the head unit, then you'll have to run wires to the back. In my opinion, it would be easier to tap into the wires that are already there.

from the documents that I have read on it --it plugs in at the amp.. I am hoping it does--but if not I will run the rca cable from the front no big deal-- since I will pickup power at the battery in the storage area.. just rather use the adapter than tap into the wires...

I did this a while back using that .pdf file. Just wanted to blow it up so I could print it out and have it by my car while I was wiring. Hope this helps you some

sub
i too have heard the same thing about not getting great results from the stock location. the stock sub is an "air free" sub, JL's require more air. local audio shop recomended this to me so just passin it along

The Specs sealed air space requirements on the JL W1 sub and the stock sub encloser match pretty good.
For 1 8" sub I'm very happy with the results. I was looking for a harder hitting and clearer bass. I was not interested in shaking the ground or putting a huge arse box in the back |
Have an 08 SS w/ factory pioneer system. Installing an AVH-4200NEX receiver. Any ideas on how to retain factory sub function with the 4200NEX?
