USB Port in 2010 HHR Not Working
I started this current thread and found out my flash drive problem was caused by have MPEG-4 files instead of WMA or MP3. I downloaded a converter and moved all my MPEGs to WMA and it works well now.
Those were downloaded from iTunes. I also added WMA files from other CDs to the flash drive. Those saved as albums and provide the album and song description -- the others do not.
Is there a way to shuffle/random play back? The USB port works great but I always had it set to random on the aftermarket Pioneer stereo I had on my Toyota Matrix.

However I only use 2 gb capacity drives and I have no problems. I just haven't figured out how to scan through the playlist without the songs changing as I scan. In my Kia I have no scanning problems at all. All my songs are in one folder. Depending on how I save the songs on the drive, the songs will play by song title in alphabetical order or by group in alphabetical order with the songs in that order also. Once in awhile, the port will quit and switch to the radio all by itself.
Is this the exact same radio that over-heated the iPod?
Yes. It's working again. I used another USB cable. I don't know whether that's the problem or not.
This is infuriating.
Next vehicle will have the cheapest crap radio Chevy offers. I'm going to rip it out of the dashboard and put in a name-brand (Kenwood, Sony, Alpine, whatever) unit with premium speakers, an amp or two, etc.

My San-Disk USB drive is lighted and I notice that the light (power) is on even when the ignition is off and parked. Is that a big power drain? Should I make sure I unplug it every time I leave the car? Thanks!
