Will other stock radios work on HHR?

I have a 2009 HHR and the radio went out. It’s stuck on AUX mode but won’t let me switch to radio. There’s nothing stuck in the aux either. I don’t want an aftermarket so I’ve been looking locally for anyone selling a stock radio. I’ve found none for HHRs, but a few for 2009 Impalas and one for an 09 Malibu. Before buying, I was wondering if anyone knew if any of these stock radios will fit an HHR. They look identical, but I don’t want to spend money only to find out they won’t fit. Anyone have any experience with this?

PS I know I’ll have to get it reprogrammed and unlocked.

If you get a brand new/remanufactured one on ebay it is plug and play. Only need programming for used.

Don't say "can't afford new" until you look at the prices.

You might be able to remove the face plate and jiggle the AUX plug. Or clean the button pads.

Thanks. I’ve been looking at some on eBay and they are pretty cheap. Only reason I asked is because there are a few that I found from local sellers here for around 15-20$, but they are for impalas and Malibu’s, same year as my HHR. But not sure if those stock radios would fit mine.

They may not be programmable; that seems to be a black subject with GM. At $20 the $100 at the dealer, if you can find a tech that can figure out what to do. Makes $145 with USB seem like a good deal.

I can't find them now, a few months ago there were several. The ones you see that claim BlueTooth are bogus, that is part of the OnStar box.

If you need one, I have a stock radio, though it doesn't have the USB.
