Wiring for Pioneer radio into 09 HHR

Before I was officially a "member" here, I started posting a question, but then lost my draft when I went through the membership enrollment process, so here goes...
I have a 2009 HHR which I am putting a Pioneer FH-S51BT radio into. My stock radio had two plugs, one ostensibly for the front speakers and the other for the rear speakers. The Pioneer only has one. I haven't been able to find a correct plug configuration for the stock units to transfer the the colors appropriately to the new input. I did find one reply on here that had almost all of the same colored wires that I have have, but it was for a 2007 model (if memory serves me correctly). I now know the correct colors for the respective speakers, but have a couple of extra wires not mentioned in the post I was replying too.

Don't ask me which post it was in, since I am totally crossed up now, but I had saved the above quote to MS Word to print out.
My car has NO pink wire in the harness (which I don't need anyway), but I do have a red and a white/black extra on the rear speaker plug and dark blue and green/white wires on the front plug.
Any ideas and thanks to the fellow (who shall remain unknown to me at this point) who posted the above wire color codes.

Why do I need an interface? Can't I just hardwire the wires to the new radio plug?

All I saw at the site you sent me to was adapter plugs to use with the original harness. The directions from the Pioneer radio don't say anything about a separate interface either.
BTW, the original factory radio was a Delphi unit.

Because an adapter will save you all the trouble of hooking wires up wrong and killing your new radio or your car.

Thanks, I have installed enough radios in my many years that if I have the right color codes I'll be good to go. I appreciate the suggestion at any rate. Just doing a little homework here is all.:wink:

Well, let us know how it turns out in the end. Suggestions were offered, but...............

The HHR had some significant changes to the interior electrical in 2009(SS got the changes in 2008). Your 2007 color codes may or may not be the same.

That was not a joke; we recently had a member kill his car by installing a radio wrong.
There must be a pink wire it. If you intend to use the stock antenna you need it because it powers the antenna amp.

Since you couldn't find any of the posted diagrams here is the 2009 w/o amp.
Note there is no switched 12V, that is handled by the serial data line. (internal SSR)
