1 yellow in color that goes to vehicle battery (12v) can I splice into the RD/WH power wire? 2. black in color goes to ground can I splice into th BK/WH ground wire 3. red in color that goes to accessory acc power what can I splice this wire to. and if this is all wrong what do I need to do to hook this up. Are you trying to install a XM receiver?

you should be able to tap into the headunit power/ground wires.... im unfamilar with the product you are describing (not sure if you are replacing your head unit)
now for the ACC wire ( do you have an after market head unit? if yes then i suggest using the headunits remote wire.... if you dont then you will need to use the cars ACC line... i am currently using this line to power up my amps because my headunits remote line stays hot 24/7. answer these questions and i will be back.... I honestly dont think the unit you are powering will require much power so you should be able to use many hot/ground connections within the car and wont blow any fuses but suggest using the already available stereo lines. |
If you click the link you will see what I am talking about.
Thanks for the help Receiver Installation |

2. black in color goes to ground
can I splice into th BK/WH ground wire Yes 3. red in color that goes to accessory acc power what can I splice this wire to. http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/....asp~TID~80607 the remote wire for your unit goes to the pink wire... zinger you are done... i need you to look up and see how many amps this thing draws.... the only thing is if this thing draws a large amount of amperage(i highly doubt) then you may need to put in a large fuse |
Why don't you just go to the fuse box at the left side of the console? you can find all the things your looking for there. ACC power, key on power, and a ground at the BCM mount. Also be sure the XM unit needs full 12v all my Sirius units use like 5.5v has a resister in the power plug!
This way you don't have to splice into anything just get the right terms. and plug and play |
