Exclamation 08 HHR SS Front Stabilizer bar.

SO I need to buy a stabilizer bar for my HHR and can't seem to find one anywhere. The dealer tells me they no longer carry that item and I am unable to find it anywhere else..
I have done the little digging that i know of and would just like to be able to drive my car again :\

I have checked all the usual spots like O'Reilly and Autozone.. I have even spent 30 min on the phone with the nice people over @ summit racing. I have no idea what to do.. I have called around my you picks and no one seems to have an 08 SS sitting around :\.. ANyone have anything that could help me get this beast on the road again?

Aftermarket.
Several companies offer aftermarket front sway bars. Turbo Tech Racing is one of this sites vendors. You could look there.

Fwiw. Why do you need one ? Not a part that generally wears out.

All years SS should be the same. Part number is 25844966. Interchange number 524-00637.

This one says many Cobalts the picture of the car it's from is an HHR SS; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stabilizer-...FZ59Bu&vxp=mtr

Many online GM stores list the part, that doesn't mean they have them in stock.

Hey Don. Kind of odd, but I found 2 different part #'s listed at gmpartsdirect for the SS specific bar. Depended on the year.
Although it could be one of those "fits all" error listings that we see all too often.

Mitchell Estimator lists the same bar for 2008-2010 SS.

However; they list differrent bars for LS/LT FE1 and FE3 all years.

When I called the dealership and talked to them they said that my car has the performance turning front end.. and the one I would need is discontinued..

I need to replace it seeing as it is bent.. Minor accident has caused tyhe passenger side to bend the control arm, strut and sway bar..

Using other threads in this forums I have found a couple sites that list they have the part I need..
https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c.../25847759.html
However when I go to sites that let me us my VIn as a vechical serach up its not to be found...

Hi Jacob, to the forums!!

I also see only the 4966 bar for the SS. Donbrew's suggestion for TTR is also a good one. I'm not sure if they sell just the front for the SS. You can PM Aaron and ask him with this link https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/priv...o=newpm&u=4515

Your VIN search may have turned up empty, because you have misread(or mistyped) your VIN. The 5 is an S.

The HHR SS does indeed have a "performance" suspension, it is called FE5.

That is why I supplied the part number for you to look at places like eBay or gmparts****.
https://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.c.../25844966.html

It is unclear to me if looking any further would find a different part for a standard trans.

As far as I can tell there is only the one part number for all years of SS. Stay away from any that say "fits all LS/LT", many parts books make this misteak (sic). The one for the SS is NOT the same as LS or LT

SS front sway bar diameter is 23mm
LS, LT front bar diameter is 25mm (yes, some very early ones had a 23mm bar)

A disclaimer here because I'm not 100% about the below thoughts.
I would think you could put the more common 25mm bar on a SS. The physical shape should be the same with both size bars. It would just need the correct 25mm bushings and brackets.
I doubt you would even notice any handling differences on a daily driver SS with the 25mm bar.

Just my thoughts. Trying to help out the OP on getting a replacement.
