2010 hhr ABS wiring ?
 

Hi All
I have set up my HHR to tow behind my M/H. Owners manual says to pull fuse #8 and turn ignition to accessory position to tow 4 down.
I also have installed an auxiliary braking system.
last road trip I had to stop rather suddenly. Noticed a loud squealing noise when I looked in mirror black smoke was rolling from front tires on HHR. Totally flat spotted front tires.
I suspect that by turning ignition to accessory i am disabling the abs system.
Now to the Question.
Does anybody in this forum have access to a wiring diagram for the abs system ? I would like to prove my theory and also find a workaround if I am correct.

I would guess your auxiliary system was under-performing, or not working. So, the front brakes did all the work.

I don't know anything about auxiliary brake systems. If they work the way I guess they do; the installer needs to know that the master cylinder is not divided Front/Rear it is divided diagonally.

OR, your panic stop shifted the weight of your RV lifting the rear bumper enough to reduce the friction on the front tires of the HHR causing the ABS to trigger.

Another scenario could be the hard braking caused the rear brakes to lock thus commanding the fronts to lock.

Any way, the only input to the ABS is the wheel speed sensors, so it has to have something to do with unequal wheel speed.
