ABS control valve / module

Hi all,
Interesting problem arose with the first snowfall here. As anticipated, I was in a snow/ice pack parking lot, hit the brake and the ABS came in - totally expected. What wasn't expected was the pedal never came back fully until about an hour or so later. It's done that twice since then with an ABS activation. My mechanic tech took it for a ride with me in it to try to get it to happen again - and it did. He diagnosed it as a faulty ABS hydraulic valve. So, that's not a problem, the problem is I did the SS rear conversion which changes the fluid ratio (which he thinks contributed to the failure). With that, what part do I need to start looking for?
Vehicle: 2010 Panel LS, 2.2 auto

It almost sounds like I need the SS hydraulic valve module with the LS electronic module (he wants to replace both). But would the LS even work with the SS module?

Thoughts?

Rick

Probably not the problem, both the 2010 LS and SS have RPO code JL4 which is the ABS system. Did you replace the brake flexible hydraulic hoses in the front when you converted to SS brakes? Rear you would have to, front would be optional, however hoses do deteriorate and close off

Both EBCM and the modulator valve are different part numbers.
LS/LT EBCM 20827127 valve 25798971
SS EBCM 25911087 valve 25911088

But shouldn’t pose a problem, several members have done the 4 wheel disc SS swap , I don’t recall any complaints about those parts.

Not yet. Rears were changed to braided, it took me until recently to find generic braided and the parts to make work on the front.

Right.. and I'm guessing that the SS EBCM wouldn't be a direct plug in for the LS/LT harness, hence my mix-and-match question.

Try SSBC in Buffalo, or ZZP or TurboTechRacing, then there’s Earl’s and many other places

I've got the lines for the front now, just have to put them on. Will do that with the new ABS module(s). Just have to figure out what the proper combination is going to be for that.

Your 2010 LS set up should be sufficient, maybe just that part has decided to fail.

Perhaps. I just did a deep dive onto several OEM suppliers, and not one agrees with the other in terms of fitment. Despite different part numbers (control valve for LT/LS 20827127 and SS 20827128) both control valves are stated to work with either of those trim levels. The modulator valve (LT/LS 19301486 and SS 19301489) three of four sites say that that SS will work on any trim level, and one site said it won't work on the LT/LS. I can't see that there is a huge difference except maybe the fluid capacity as noted by my tech. Since the control portions are "universal", I feel safe in ordering the LT/LS control valve with the SS modulator valve. We'll see if any error codes get thrown. I'll keep everyone posted - might be good for future reference.
