Beefier Suspension

Hi all

If this is a stupid question I apologize in advance but i haven 't worked on a car in many years and also know little about what's out there for the hhr. After driving an SS and then driving a 2lt, i was disappointed at how mushy the suspension was. Are there shocks /springs out there that would improve handling? Maybe not to the level of the SS, but something that would tighten it up and improve cornering?

Thanks

i have gold line lowering springs on my car and the suspension is much stiffer and lower. the ride quality does suffer and will feel bumpier but there is less roll in and out of turns and it looks a lot better than the stock lift kit they ship it with. you could add better sway bars and better shocks if you want to go that far but i would take it one step at a time if money is a concern

The SS suspension is a direct bolt on to the 2LT !! But the 2LT anti sway bar is a little bigger than the SS......so, make a judgement for that.

Pedders are a nice upgrade, also many choose the TTR rear sway bar.

I think the Eibach Pro kit would be a nice fit for you. I had SS springs in the rear and recently put the Eibach springs all around and I am satisfied. They are noticeably smoother than the SS springs, but they handle much better than both the FE1 and FE3 springs. Besides that check out all the info on sway bars. I have a TTR bar and it works very well. For around $400 you can dramatically change the ride of your car with those mods(if you do it yourself).
