Brake Lights: Only 3rd Brake Light Lighting Up

I am having trouble with only my third brake light lighting up, the two round ones seem to light up occasionally when they feel like it. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for what might be the cause? The white reverse lights work.

They are separate circuits.

My guess would be the ground. Link to https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...cations-56504/.

If the marker lights work it would be at connector S402, if not ground location G401.

S402 is in the harness 11 cm from the ground breakout.

I'm sorry, I don't understand. I do not work on cars. Would you recommend taking it to a shop?

You don't understand what? The pictures?

A link was included to a thread with illustrations.

If you don't know what a ground is, Yes, take it to a shop.

I scrolled down to the right image.. I found the wire you directed me to, what should I be looking for as far as an issue?

The ground wire you're looking for would be back by the tail light assemblies. It's accessible by the interior panels that pop loose back beside the rear hatch. It grounds to the car's metal body.

Asking what to look for as far as an issue, I would suggest you take it to a shop. If you're not able to test the ground and it's continuity, best to let someone else look at it.

Plus. It may not even be the ground. It could be a loose or bad positive wire. Best bet is to let someone look at it that knows automotive wiring basics.

Yes, please no offence intended, but in this case if you are unsure of what to look for , then because this could be a fire hazard, take it to a shop!
