Umm, Ok.

You guys realize that Powerslot is now owned by Centric who owns Stoptech and without much thought was likely Powerslots former supplier...all owned by a Chinese corporation.

I cannot say who's fully in bed with who but let me tell you there are very, very few rotor castings of oem aftermarket which are NOT produced in either China, Mexico and others. Get used to a global supply economy; you've had it for years but didn't know it.

Thanks to Linda and Bill for keeping up with the latest tech for our HHRs.
I will let you know when I get them and how I like them. This should not require a how to should it?
Let me know and I'll do a brake job how to.
It'd be great if you did a how-to just so the rest of us would know what size sockets or hex keys to have on hand for our projects, in addition to whatever issues you run into with the EBC parts.

How about the brake parts that you sell? USA made or other? I bought Brembo rotors for our tahoe a few months back & was surprised to see that they were made in mexico, too. All of the Brembo parts I bought in the past were made in italy.

Power Slot and EBC are two completely different brake manufacturers. Here is EBC's public profile:

Premium quality EBC brake pads and rotors for cars, trucks, motorcycles, is our business .... all made in the UK.

EBC Brakes manufactures the world's largest range of disc brake pads.

EBC Brakes forms part of the Freeman Automotive Group, based in Northampton, UK.

With business commencing in 1978, the company has grown from an importer distributing products from a single van to a multi-national group employing over 400 staff with manufacturing in three countries and worldwide sales in excess of $100 million. The product range comprises brake discs and disc brake pads for motorcycles, all terrain vehicles (ATV or Quads), mountain bikes, go karts (or shifter karts) and automobiles.

The group also owns 100% of the shareholding of EFI (European Friction Industries Ltd) of Bristol, UK who are Europe's no.1 independent manufacturer of disc brake pads. EFI has a 50 year pedigree of manufacture in heavy brakes such as commercial vehicles (trucks and trailers), earth moving equipment such as bulldozers and dump trucks, and railway applications. Its products are the preferred choice of numerous rail networks including Docklands Railway, Tyne Tees Metro system, and are specified by the original equipment builder Tectran in the United States. The company is also joint owner of AFT (American Friction Technologies) who are without doubt one of the finest manufacturing facilities in the world for sintered metal brakes.

The group is still currently owned by the founder and now Managing Director Andy Freeman who is a strong proponent of British manufacturing. The motto at EBC Brakes and EFI is NOT to import any brake product from third world countries and to manufacture every piece possible in its own facilities.

We are proud of our products, proud of our team that work for us, and intend to continue to develop our ideas based on British and US manufacturing of quality products for the discerning buyer.

To me it seems like they remain British so I would like to see the email from EBC saying they're Chinese now.

My response from EBC:

Hi Anthony,

Thanks for your email. I am passing this on to our MD, Andy Freeman, who is out of the office until Monday. I am sure he will reply to you on this matter.

In the meantime, I can categorically reiterate that EBC Brakes is a British company, the rotors are definitely cast in the UK, NONE of our products are produced in China or anywhere near.

Andy Freeman will issue a quote to be posted on the website you mentioned so as to clear this issue up.

Regards

Natalie Brown

Thanks Captain for the research.

Appears that another "myth" is shut down.

I don't believe they are made in China and if I find out they are I WILL be receiving a large refund since I was lied to. I did check Brembo first but was told they have nothing for our cars yet.
My parts were shipped yesturday and I will do a how to if the weather stays good a bit longer, its been rainy and cold around here.
