duralast rotors

sorry for the everlasting rotor topic, but I searched and couldn't really find a thread that brought this up.

can anyone tell me if the Duralast rotor will be better than the factory rotor? I'm about to push over 50,000 on the odometer and I want to replace my crappy stockers. I see most people going with the slotted or crossdrilled but Id rather not go with a slotted rotor if Im going to run into problems with re-surfacing them if the time ever comes.

It basically looks like spend $50+ at a local retailer (advance, autozone, o'reillys) or spend $200+ on some drilled/slotted ones?

is there a rotor that falls in the middle?

thanks in advance.

thanks chadpuska!

Do you know if there is much of a difference from the premium to the standard ones? The only difference that I saw was this

our Premium Series start with special castings and are machined to provide increased performance and reliability over OE rotors.

They are also zinc coated so the areas that dont come into contact with the wont rust. I jus placed my order with them yesterday.

NAPA has some rotors that are great. Ask for the Canadian made ones. I believe the part # is 880382. It cost me 114 bucks for the pair. No more warping and shaking. Get the ceramic pads, part # SS8270X to go with them at $62.50 a set.

Machining slotted / drilled rotors is no different than doing stock ones..

You would not want to take a bigger bite than .002 at a time, so as
to avoid breaking the tool bit.

I have personally machined many slotted / drilled rotors...including my own.

I have the R1Concepts units also....

I have had good luck with Centric Premium E coated brake rotors and Akebono Pro Act ceramic pads. Changed out my orig rotors and pads at 70K miles, I had a mild shimmy as everyone however the orig pads were nearly worn down. I now have 82k miles with no problems (knock on wood). $160.00 + shippping for pads and rotors at a major online parts site.

I replaced mine with Duralast and the Premium Duralast pads and have had ZERO problems so far. My HHR stops better than when new and no brake shudder. For the money you cant beat them and lifetime warranty.

i have also used duralast rotors and pads, they work better than stock and you can turn the rotors when they do start to shutter, the stock rotors are not recomended to turn, so the duralast are great for the money.
