i would suggest switching to at least fe3 or go fe5 on the shock...i think it would be a waste and put more stress on the soft fe1 shock with these springs, just my thought

1. They are already on there. No extra cost to just try out. 2. Putting FE3 shocks on the rear only might not be balanced with the front. Not sure anybody has tried this combo yet even though it could be OK. 3. Sleeper is happy as a clam with his SS Cobalt TC rear springs and TTR rear sway bar but I think he also has the FE3 rear shocks and FE3 front suspension. Here again I like the One Step at a Time approach. |
I have a set of fe3 and a set of fe5 if you all decide to try those.
I love my self proclaimed fe4.....yyzv2 with kyb. It doesn't need a sway bar and it's not jarring on the bumps.:thumb: |
^^ you have coils..doesnt count :p

Ok, I'll keep them for you. I think this fella would like the fe3 with a hardcore bar, plenty soft ride, and pancake flat in the turns.......but what do i know ?

My 2cents. I have the front nosed to the ground, and the butt end up and I have pretty good traction for winter (just wish I had Snow tires.) oh yeah, I am running all seasons and getting good traction. I also don't get AS much 'butt sitting' being nosed down with 'Balt SS front springs and suspension pieces. Also, that being said, I have embarrassed a few cars that wanted to try their luck with my HHR as a result of the front springs mod. Hope this helps influence.

I would not replace the shocks if they are not leaking unless .. you want to replace with new FE3 shocks. Thats the beauty of doing this one step at a time. SF And mine came with the FE3 ....... The Cobalt SS/TC springs on the rear can still haul loads & have plenty of fun cutting thru the twisties... |
Thanks to everyone ! This good info to have to get me on the way.

Well...got a "new" sway bar for the panel. It's a start. Took the pic before the bushings were installed.
