Um..the GR2 and The Excel are the same shock..except the Excel is silver and sold overseas....thats the only difference. I have 2 sets of these and they do not quite meet up with the FE5 shocks...these are good with the LS and LT but no so with the SS..the rebound rate is what makes it mushy/bouncy, they just cant keep up with the spring rate, otherwise they are great..and work quite well with Goldline springs....correction, not sure how they would be with 'stock' SS springs, but with lowered ones they are not 'fast' enough to keep up, though with normal driving they are , ok.

I have seen them advertisied as seperate names for different applications. The GR2's were always "factory" application and the Excels were always "aftermarket pro-" applications. I'm sure it's just wordings and advertising but I thought they were valved differently and that the Excels were stiffer......BUT I was wrong. According to the website, it says they are the same... Fo' factory replacements

What's your thoughts on the information provided for the Excels/GR2's as factory replacements for FE1/FE3, or do you still think they are good enough to be considered FE5 replacements?

i have an LS but im wanting a more stiff ride hence why i got the pedders but i was told to use fe5 shocks/struts with them instead of using fe1/fe3..so the konis are best bet then? if your saying the kyb's are a little bouncy..

The excels seem to be VERY similar to a FE5 strut performance.

whats the difference..if any..between the GM fe5's and the Excel G?
would it be better to stay stock fe5 or go aftermarket with pedder srpings? you guys stated before that the Koni's were better than KYB..except for the KYB Excel G..is this one superior to the Konis? or same?
sorry for all the questions, i just want to make sure i get the right ones to do it properly the first time. (either GM or aftermarket FE5's)
