Lets talk a bout brake rotors,,,,,,again

Just a quick question.
what readily avaliable brake rotors (advance, autozone,O'rielly,NAPA) are the best ones to replace the factory ones?

It seems to be that the "platform" the HHR was put on is a little small...I have read may threads on this and it seems to be the general opinion.

I don't plan on going with a full system replacement to compensate for the weight, so don't really want to beat that horse anymore.

Just want to know if I gotta replace them with general replacment rotors which ones to replace them with?

Okay lots of stuff comes up when using the search feature. But there is a variety of opinions on which rotors to use. Everyone has a brand they like. I personally am still on the stick brakes but I know I have heard people say they like the raybestos brand rotors. They are NAPA' premium brand. Some more people will chime in as the day goes on.

I'm planning a brake swap, upgrade the SS to brembos and the SS brakes to the panel. I am planning on useing these guys for all the rotors, looks like they have quality rotors across the spectrum, from stock replacement to slotted and dempled. http://brakeperformance.com/brake-ro...ake-Rotors.php

I'm of the opinion that rotors are rotors. I haven't had to do mine yet on the SS, but it's the pads that really matter - and your driving style. I prefer aggressive pads and cheap rotors, and that comes from my autocross days. The extra noise and dust are not for everyone, but I accept it. Without knowing what you are looking for, I'm not going to toss my personal preferences out there like gospel. I do have experience with several different performance pads, and some don't like cold much, either...

seems to me that the "thicker" or higher quality metal might determine how the rotor will warp...I did recently replace with what ever Advanced's cheaper brand...and also was told by and "insider" that cheap or expensive they are all the same.
so with that being said
what is the cure for frequent rotor warpage....if it is indeed the Brembos (calipers) I may concider purchasing a set?

I've got all the stuff to do an upgrade to the larger SS rotors. Just haven't put it all on yet.

The ones that you can afford at the time you need them, not a drams worth of difference across brands. That's my opinion.

Be careful what you are calling "rotor warp", I believe that most is actually out of round rear drums, or bad bearings, or bad steering "gears".

Keeping the rear drum brakes properly adjusted is a big help..

X2 on the drums. I Check mine every few months. Helps to be a light braker too.
