Question Monroe Shocks?

Have any of you gone from the Sachs 2LT shocks to Monroe adjustable shocks? Just curious if the Monroes ride better. The light back end in my HHR seems to "jump" more over bumps than the front end. I am guessing it is those Sachs shocks. They give a pretty sharps whack over speed bumps. Best wishes and God Bless, Marc

Question

What I am really trying to figure out here is if I can lower the rear about an inch, but use components that will allow me the same ride quality as my current 2LT setup. I am wondering if the Cobalt SS rear springs plus Monroe shocks would give me about the same ride as a normal 2LT with the Sachs shocks? I am not looking for ultimate handling, but I am thinking lowering the rear center-of-gravity an inch may offset softer shocks. Any thoughts from the suspension gurus? God Bless, Marc

Yes..with a shorter spring you gain a bit of spring rate. will it be noticable? Probably not as much as you would think considering you didn't do the front. The biggest thing you will notice is the rear shouldn't " bounce' over speed bumps any more. Some of the forces will still be transfered to the front takilng a small portion of the initial shock. It will be an improvement you will like....and after a few miles/days you won't even notice it anymore.
