Rear spring isolators

I put the gen1 Goldline lower springs on my car last weekend. When I removed the stock springs, the spring isolators were almost completely destroyed. I went to every parts store in the area, and no one has a replacement piece for this. When I went to the GM parts department, they said that I would have to order the entire upper spring housing which is over $100. Does anyone know of a better solution than replacing the entire upper mount?

I replaced my with a rubber material I found at Homedepot. Laid the old one down to judge for size. The felt material they use is worthless.

90 shore urethane would work awesome , just gotta make a mold. Probably would be quieter too.

Do what we used to do in the old days.... Buy a piece of heater hose and slice it lengthwise, and slip it over the top coil on the spring. You can secure it with a couple of plastic wire ties to hold it in place till the cars weight is on it.

HHorange, right on. Worked well for us on a bunch of cars, too. I have heard the hose might roll over and come out, but never had that problem. I went with shorter springs on a (then new) '75 Corolla SR5 and had to tie wrap the srping to the perch - if the suspension topped out over a bump, the spring was short enough to jump out of it's place. So, you might want to use the hose and tie wrap the spring in place just in case.

I guess foam is a better word. Whatever it was, it didn't hold up very well.
