Rear springs/shocks?

Hey y'all I want to lower just the rear to level out. 1.5 drop would I need to get shorter shocks, or is it safe just dropping the rear 1.5"? Read things about when on a lift the springs fall out?

The springs won't come out unless you have the shocks unhooked..even then it may take a little pull. Fwiw, I'm running kyb's and they work fine with ss cobalt springs.

No no no. I asking if its safe to use my oem shocks with shorter springs in the back. I want to level my car out. Don't want the springs falling out on me while driving.

They might. The OEM springs come out with just one hand pushing down on the control arm with only the shock on that side removed. But, the spring cushion/bumper things may keep them somewhat in place.

If you lower just the rear, Never intend to haul any loads (like 2 fat people in the back seat). The weight distribution will get all out of wack.

Springs wont ..literally..fall out of the car..they will come loose at the top and may have to be guided back in when lowered...not that difficult..if the spring cup rubbers are still good the spring will actually stick to them and stay in place, on some types of springs.
