Cool shocks

I am going to put '08 Coablt SS rear springs on my '07 Panel Wagon, should I also put Cobalt SS shocks on too? I don't know if the HHR shocks will bottom out with the Cobalt sptings.

I have Cobalt SS/SC rear springs with the stock shocks and have not bottomed out yet. Lowered the rear 1". Also did not trim the bump stop. Hope this helps.

I've been told that shock replacement isn't required for a drop 1'' or less

Thumbs up

My stock FE3 sport tuned HHR rear shocks are not bottoming out at all, & I do at times haul some slightly heavy stuff, besides just hauling azz.......

And didn't trim bump-stops either. 1" drop in rear leveled mine (as planned), & made it handle much better. I used the 'balt SS/TC rear springs.

I think you should be very happy with the spring change..

I added a rear sway bar (yesterday) but due to steady raining, haven't been out for any spirited testing, yet..

Thanks for the info everyone!!! Now, what is the difference between the SS/SC and the SS/TC. I'm sure it's the ride, I don't want to be tooo still my HHR is just a pleasure ride (just luggage on trips and some light stuff around town). I am also going to do the sway bar.

I believe the only difference is the TC springs are stiffer but offer the same drop

Only time my shocks bottomed out was when i had 550lbs of landscaping stones in the back of it.

Thanks for the info, SC or TC shock, which give the smoother ride with a sway bar? Is there a sway bar set up that matches the stock front sway bar for ride? You guys are the best, you really know your stuff, glad I joined this site!!

THAT was FAST, thanks !!!!! I'll probably go the SC for the smoother ride. Any info on sway bars that work well with the stock suspension?

I have the progressive tech sway bar. Its not as thick as the TTR so it is a little easier on the ride quality. Still controls body lean in the corners quite well.
