No we bleed the calipers with them upside down to force the air up out the bleeder screw

I'm confused. The bleeder screws should be on the top of the caliper when it's mounted on the car. Turning them upside down would place the bleeders on the bottom and trap air inside the caliper if you bleed it that way.

Now, if you had the calipers mounted on the wrong sides of the car( left on right, right on left ) then the bleeders would be in the wrong position on the bottom.

My Brembos but the same thing applies to bleeders should be on top.

 

You should bleed them on the car with pads installed. The last thing before putting the wheels on.

Sounds like you were bleeding them while holding them?

 

To repeat others. Bleeder screws should always be mounted up on the car. If yours are not you need to correct this issue.

 

The bleeders should point up, when mounted to the car, this is the passenger side front caliper.
If you put this on the drivers side the bleeder would be low and trap air in the caliper
