Suspension Advice

I am looking for advice regarding the following. Any help is appreciated. I have a 2007 HHR LT. It is time after 110K miles to get my shocks n struts replaced. I have read a little regarding struts and shocks and springs. I think the KYB GR-2 Excel G's are the way to go from TireRack. Thoughts?
This would be the time to swap springs. What would I sacrifice by going to the SS springs? Where is the best place to source them? Would I need additional parts to keep the alignment proper? Thoughts?
I pull a trailer on occasion and would likely need to get airbags. I don't see an application on the Airlift website for the HHR. Trying to keep things simple. Thoughts?

A lot to think about. Again, thanks for the help.

KYB,s yes Canuck Motorsports lowering spring kit would be good , I tow a 15 ft enclosed trailer for my Quad, no issues and very stable, I have the KYB's and Canuck's on my 2007 LT no issues what so ever, I added a TTR rear sway bar , that cured some issues in a cross wind towing the barn on wheels

Cool, thats a big trailer, these little "Trucklets" are amazing. Why not use the fe5 struts and shocks with the SS springs designed for them, unless you want to be lower, they are the best.

because I wanted lower, and most of the SS's around here have broken cracked springs before the owner ponies up for either Goldlines Elbach's or Canuck'sI prefered the Canuck's thier customer service is awesome

I have never heard of a cracked or broken spring. I am very happy with the YYZv2, they match well with the fe5, and drop it another 1"...

Suspension Questions

How much drop would I get by replacing the FE3 setup with the FE5? Who sells replacement components for the FE5 setup? Is it best to purchase GM parts? What year SS would I ask for if I called up to get parts? Thanks for the help.

I just replaced my stock struts and shocks with parts from RockAuto, too.

And, the SS parts are the same for all years, so it doesn't matter which one you pick for searching...

I paid $172.00 delivered to Calif. bought from Rock Auto Fe struts, had them installed 2 weeks ago my HHR 2006 2lt lowered 2 inch front 21/2 inch in the rear, too soon to tell but seems to corner flatter, need to take a mountain to really tell, have the new Eibach rear sway bar in back.
