Cobalt rear axle on an HHR
just saw recently on a TV show called All Girls Garage(Victory channel for me in North Myrtle Beach) where thay swapped out a stock complete rear axle out of a 2009 HHR LT for one out of a Coablt ss that they found at a auto yard. went in with VERY LITTLE issue and as a result of the swap that now had REAR DISC BRAKES......problem would be finding that Cobalt SS rear axle....

Sounds great... problem with TV show ideas is they typically only show a few seconds of the actual work. And who knows if it's actually being done 'correct'. You may also need a proportioning valve, maybe a master cylinder, ???.
One plus is not having to adjust your drum brakes anymore!!

There is no actual proportioning valve with the ABS system, the EBCM handles that. I don't know if you would need to swap out the EBCM from a Cobalt, maybe the same part number.
The MC is split diagonally so, probably no problem there. LF-RR, RF-LR.
Probably just a plug disc brakes in sort of thing.
