Sway bar hits lower control arm?

Just installed a set of Pedders springs onto FE5 struts. They were fine the whole way home, but now i'm getting a sound like something is loose on every tiny bump. I've taken the wheel off and made sure everything was torqued down properly. It appears as though the sway bar may be contacting the lower control arm. It has approximately 3/4"-1" of clearance. Has anyone run into this problem?

Somebody installed the wrong sway bar links. They should NOT be 12 inches long, the 9.5-10 inch ones are correct.

Check the common parts thread for the part numbers.

I'll have to measure them tomorrow. They were replaced when the FE5 suspension was initially installed around 15k miles ago.

The K750012 links are the correct number for the "10 inch". The K80252 are 12 inch and belong on Cobalts.

Unfortunately most counter men will sell the K80252 to you.

I think I remember them getting replaced with the longer version because the store "didn't have any shorter". I'll measure them today and find out.

Measured them this morning. They are just under 10" which is what they should be. I took a video of the clunk. You can kinda hear it, but not as well as in person.

Sorry. I don't "do" Facebook. Got another link.

Fwiw. There are some reports of Pedders coil binding when installed on a HHR. ( i.e. the spring coils bumping together under compression and making a thumping noise)
Take a look and see if the red paint is rubbing off between the coils.

Can you see an indentation on the LCA?

I only have experience with stock LT FE1/FE3.

Maybe the stops on the sway bar have dislodged.

Did you put an FE5 sway bar on?

Just random sentences.

Does it not show up if you don't have FB? I'll try to not be computer illiterate and post it on here. I'll also try to see if they have rubbed at all.

No FE5 Sway bar, still the factory LT bar. Where would I find the "stops"?

There are stops on the bar inside of the bushings, they are just plastic I think.

But, I'm thinking the problem lies in the sway bar not agreeing with the struts. I do know the FE5 sway bar is smaller in diameter then the FE!/FE3, I don't know about the bends in it.

But, the new springs should not have anything to do with that.
