What, exactly, makes up a "sport tuned suspension"?

I am looking to purchase a new Spring Edition HHR, and realized that you cannot order the LT2 package - it is only available as an LT1. The SE package contains most of the LT2 options, but does not include the "sport tuned suspension". Other than the 17 inch wheels, what are the differences? If it is simply a matter of upgraded shocks, I can live with that, and upgrade later. If it is a different electric steering assist or springs, or modified suspension geometry, that might be a more involved mod. Does anyone know what parts are different in the two suspensions (LT1 & LT2)? Thanks - Bob

You can find out on Chevys website.

Touring suspension:
The touring suspension, standard on LS and 1LT, includes variable-rate springs and a 19mm front stabilizer bar. It is not available on 2LT.

Tuned sport suspension:
The tuned sport suspension, standard and available only on 2LT, includes variable-rate springs and gas-charged shocks with a 22mm stabilizer bar.

Heh, and no comments on him calling them LT1 and LT2? I would have never guessed CH to ignore such things.

I test drove several 1LT's and 2LT's and couldn't tell the difference. The rear shocks "might" last a bit longer on the 2LT.

In all reality, I believe the 2LT is a more cost effective option than the SE. This is coming from someone who has an SE.

The FE1 Touring Suspension is standard and only available on the LS and 1LT models.

The FE3 Sport Suspension is standard and only available on the 2LT model.

GM is vague on the actual differences, but the Sport Suspension may have slightly increased spring rates. GM also claims that the Sport Suspension is equipped with gas-charged shocks. The valving may be slightly stiffer.

Both suspension packages are equipped with 25 mm front and 22 mm rear sway bars. (Verified by actually measuring at dealer.) CH quoted what GM's site states, which is incorrect.

WOW!!! That's good to know. I haven't crawled under mine yet to look, but that would explain why I didn't notice any difference in my test drives between the 1LT and the 2LT.
