Um, The lower the number the better in Canada, the exact opposite of miles per gal.

The correct calculation is how many liters per 100 kilometers, so the lower the liter number the less fuel used to go 100 k.

I would have hoped for better then 10.3

But what the heck do I know.

Im currently at 10.8 but I've also had a pretty heavy foot too, cause the SS is so bloody fun to drive.

My regular driving around Calgary usually has me in the high 9L/100km during the non winter months and somewhere around 10.5L/100km during the winter.

On highway trips, such as Calgary to Edmonton, I usually get in the low 8L/100km area.

This is with a 2006 2.4L HHR with about 40,000km

I'm not trying to flame anyone here but I have a question. Is kiloage a word usually used in countries that use the metric system?

No………………………but it is now.
It would seem perplexing to call it mileage when you are traveling kilometers wouldn’t?

Well if you really want to mess your head up use these figures. Depending on how or what you want to convert to. 1 gal. = 3.78541178 liters, and there's 1.6 kilometers to the mile.

use these figures to convert

Well, If you really want to mess with your head and convert what you want to whatever you need, use these figures. 1 US gal. = 3.78541178 liters, 1 UK gallon = 4.54609, 1 kilometer = 0.621371192237334 miles. roughly 1.6 kilometers to the mile.
