I know it’s probably a bad solenoid inside the assembly but I would still first try unplugging it and inspecting the wiring and pins and plug it back in just in case it’s just a bad connection.

If he had it for more than 3 hours he didn't do anything but read the codes. And it sat. Then he gave you a crazy estimate to run you away.
That happened to me with an OBD1 p/u truck that came out of the body shop with a CEL. I read the flashes and took it back to get the MAF replaced, they had to take it to a dealer to get the flashes read. The dealer sat on the car for 2 solid weeks before somebody got around to shorting the 2 pins and counting flashes. 2 days later the MAF was replaced. I still can't figure out what "harness he would replace for $1000 or how it could be bad. I would have to see burned up wires first. |
