Maybe he doesn't have an HHR SS

The axle spindle nut size is how you know if you have the right one...:twothumbs:
36mm = HHR SS
30mm = HHR LS LT

Found these axle part numbers today,
W0133-1775149 For auto trans
W0133-1835283 For manual

Autopartswarehouse, CarID, and autopartsway.ca all like these numbers, but Amazon does not.

Walmart, sold by autopartsway. As always, do your own search and order from whoever you want. Partsgeek likes these numbers also. We might have a winner here.

EDIT: This is a little troubling, for manual trans: GM says right and left are different.
Left 20778307
Right 20778308

DRIVE SHAFT/FRONT WHEEL

I wonder why all the aftermarket only give one number, not side-specific.

Oldblue Mar 24, 2017 04:45 PM

Cause their incorrect!?

RJ_RS_SS_350 Mar 24, 2017 04:51 PM

Probably. Either that or the difference in length is negligible. Hmmm... not sure I've ever used that word before.

donbrew Mar 24, 2017 08:57 PM

The difference is a good 3 inches. Auto have the same because they have an internal extension on one side.

I had thought the difference in the LT and the SS shafts was the number of splines?

RJ_RS_SS_350 Mar 24, 2017 09:31 PM

The GM part numbers, on Amazon, says they fit. Also there is a review on each, from the same buyer, that they fit. Amazon shows a difference in length of 6.5"!! Granted, that isn't precise, but shows that they are indeed different lengths, like don said.

So either W0133-1835283 doesn't fit at all, or it's only for one side, and we don't know which. So we're back to GM only again.

Might call into question the accuracy of the fitment for the auto axles as well. If anyone orders, get a fitment guarantee from the seller!

Business as usual, GM only, or get your old ones rebuilt, your SS will be down for a spell
