Oh man. I've been gone for a while, and you guys have found some that put a chill up my spine. I love "Try", and I love that Simply Red song, too. Seriously. Goose-bump stuff.
Well, I want to take you back to the CRANK IT UP, AND KILL YOUR SPEAKERS mode
Neil Young and Crazy Horse - how I missed the opportunity until now, I don't know.
This was Kevin McHale's warmup song back in the 80s with the Celtics. As you may know, he grew up in Minnesota, not far from Canada. He wanted to play hockey all his life... Some coach finally said, "kid you are too tall for that"... So, the old Boston Garden was where I first heard it. I was, like OMG, what is this song???
I love Neil Young, but Crazy Horse seems to be more uplifting than his country-ish stuff. So, I hope I give you a good one for the holidays.
Getting blown away comes in many forms... not just the first ones you think of.

I loved this one as a teenager. Someone recently sent me a link to this. This was my energy song. I was one of those weirdos who did math and physics surrounded by loud, energetic rock.
This acoustic version is amazing. 60-year-old Rik Emmett nails it on both the guitar and the vocals. Hope you can enjoy an acoustic version of a golden oldie!
