CV shaft inner joint issue

I’m having some issues here.....passenger side CV shaft....how much “up and down” play should it have inside the transmission? My issue is that the CV shaft has play so the weight of the CV is pulling down on the axle seal causing it to leak. Is this a transmission issue? Any fixes without changing the Tranny?I’ve changed the CV shaft, both seals TWICE. Still leaking. I’m at my wits end, I need help!!!

Does this stub shaft seal need to go in further? I can’t get it in any further than that. Which would be putting an in even load on the seal, causing the gap in the top to leak fluid?

It should go in flush. Did the spring clip click in?

Are you sure that is the correct seal?

It did clip! It almost seemed like it kept pushing out the stub shaft seal when I would install the assembly though....

There must be something in there. There are 2 clips, 1 in the cup and 1 on the end of the shaft.
I am assuming that you are using the original stub. I guess you have to pull it out and look inside

This must be my issue. I can’t get the stub shaft seal in any further then that first pic because it hits this inner steel sleeve. Ever seen anything like it?

In your first photo the axle is not seated completely into the transmission , are your sure that axle is for that side ?

I don't know what that is!
Sorry about the size.

It is seated, but the stub shaft seal gets pushed out by the inner steel race... very odd.

I don't see an inner seal in the exploded view.
