KY stg3 install review and first inpression

i installed my KY stg3 clutch, oem flywheel, oem flywheel bolts, oem clutch slave cyclinder, oem clutch slave cylinder pipe, also installed my zzp stg2 transmission mounts

ok first i used this install guide.....http://frogstofall.f3h.com/Clutch%20...obalt%20SS.pdf.....very detailed and spot on.

a few side notes i will add where i had difficulty:

1. make sure if you have aftermarket wheels and lugs that you have the lug key

2. after you remove the ecu you remove the fuse panel....this whole part was a pita for some reason and we wasted a lot of time here

3. before you let the subframe drop make sure the steering arm is disconnected....if not the weight of the subframe will yank it out and it is very difficult to get back in...we wasted about 2 hours here.

4. take notes, pictures, or whatever to make sure you get it put back together....we forgot to put the starter wire on and ended up hooking it up to the fuse panel, leaving one that should have gone to the fuse panel dangling. then in the process of trying to find our error we arced it, blowing a fuse in the interior panel.

5. the ecu harness locks in with a lever that moves a mechanism to lock it in place....i broke the mechanism off of the lever which wasn't a big deal but a little piece of it was stuck in the ecu side and prevented the harness from seating properly with the pins on the ecu....that was why the throttle wouldn't rev the engine once we got it started.

overall the clutch feels really good. the pedal feel is a little different but is still very light. the engagement is certainly more harsh but is not an on/off switch like other 6 pucks. i did not stall it out on my 45 mile drive home so it is certainly streetable but takes a little getting used to.

i will update as i go thru the break in and whatnot

i installed the zzp mounts to the subframe while we had it out. so nothing really to add about their install. the mounts do have some vibes to them but can certainly feel the difference in stiffness between them and the stockers. but i woulda bought a caddy if i wanted a plush ride:lol: i will take not snapping an axle as a trade any day:thumb:
